Students will watch the World History Crash Course - Indian Ocean Trade clip that is embedded in the first pdf, taking 5 notes, and students will follow taking notes on the Cornell Note taking guide.
Students will then turn to back page of the "Kingdom and States of Africa" and read about the Indian Ocean Trade. Once they finish the reading they will need to answer the Reading Check question at the bottom of 248. Then students will need to answer the "Geography Skills" questions 1&2 on the same page. Once students have completed we will have a class discussion.
Teacher will begin lesson by showing the following power point and students will follow taking notes using the guided note sheet.
