Lesson for theday:
Step1: Students will begin by answering the Do Now- If you had an opportunity to re-write the history of your family so that it reflects only what you want it to say...What would you write? with 4-5 complete sentences. Once students have completed, we will discuss, as a class, 4-5 complete sentences that should be written. Students should be able to describe how they would leave out or redo certain "bad" moments within their history in order to gain a more pleasant/powerful family lineage.
Step 2: Mrs. Silver will introduce The Mayan, Aztec, and Inca Civilizations via power point. Students will follow instruction by taking guided notes-writing in corresponding words to blanks. She will add verbal details to the power point to give them more background information and context as we move through each slide. Students will be able to determine the development of each civilization and the resources they used in order to adapt to the environment, survive, and build their permanent civilizations. Students comprehension of the concept will deepen as it is discussed throughout the presentation as well as student engagement with responses.
Step 3: Mrs. Silver will pass out the 3 column PERSIAN Chart for students to complete using their notes and links provided. Students will need to be able to fill in the PERSIAN Chart for each of the Mesoamerican civilizations - MAYA, AZTEC, and INCA (write in names at top) identifying the Political, Economic, Religious, Society, Interactions, Arts, and Near (Geography).
Students can use their notes, links, and devices to conduct research for filling in the correct information on their Mesoamerican Civilizations PERSIAN Chart.
