SWBAT:

  • Know the significance of the contributions of Renaissance artists to European Society.

  • Understand the structure in place that enabled Renaissance Artists to increase the awareness of nature, the revival of classical learning, and a more individualistic view of man.

  • Construct a Renaissance Quilt on a selected Renaissance artist.

Lesson for the day:

Step 1: Mrs. Silver will begin by passing out Man of the Renaissance Quilt Planner handout. She will explain each step to students. 1st Mrs. Silver will assign a Renaissance person to students. Next, she will ask students to write the name of their assigned person in the blank of question #1. Then she will tell them to write the same name in the bubble for question #3. Mrs. Silver will then go over question #2 as a whole class, filling in the blanks as to where students can go to find information on their figure. Next, she will go over and explain how to insert the name of their figure into questions 4-6 to enable students to find information on their person. Last, she will ask students to turn the page over and she will go over the planning page, as to that students will need to fill in all information on this page before starting on their final quilt square. Mrs. Silver will give students 40 minutes to research and construct their rough draft of their quilt square.
