The Great Depression
Day 1:
You will need to know what Oral History means and write that down as a part of your DO NOW. Then you will need to read the following worksheet about the Great Depression and answer questions. Once you have finished reading and answering questions you will need to watch the following video and write down 5 things you empathized with from the personal accounts.
You will need to read pages 792 & 793. On page 792 for "Causes of the Great Depression you will need to answer "What were the 2 factors that caused the Great Depression and what was the U.S. importance. Then on page 793 under "Turning Point Political Effects of the Great Depression please answer 1&2. After you have completed the reading you will need to view the following powerpoint and take 1 note from each slide.
After you have viewed the powerpoint and written your notes from each slide you will need to go to the following website and select one person to do an interview and Facebook profile for. Latin American Nationalism
You will need to read pages 844-849. Once you finish reading each selection you will need to answer the reading check question on the following document. Next you will need to complete the table listing the political struggles in Argentina and Brazil during the first half of the twentieth century.
Imperial China
You will need to go to the following website and access the section labeled "Imperial China" (begins on slide 61) within the prezi. Once there you will need to read about Imperial China and take notes on the following document. Imperial China Prezi
Japan Nationalism
You will need to read pages 834-835 to learn the changes that Japan undergoes and how they transform into a military state. Once you have read the two pages you will need to come up with 5 events that contributed to Japan becoming a military state in the 1930s. You will fill out the diagram with the 5 events on the following sheet and then write a summary. Next you will need to watch the following crash course and and Meiji Japan video to help you understand more about Japan during this time period.
