Step1: Students will begin by answering the Do Now-What do you know about cavemen? How do you think they communicated? with 4-5 complete sentences. Once students have completed, we will discuss, as a class, 4-5 complete sentences that should be written. Students should be able to generate generalized ideas based on previous information that they have been taught.
Step 2: Mrs. Silver will introduce Paleolithic vs Neolithic via PowerPoint. Students will follow instruction by taking guided notes-writing in corresponding words to blanks. She will add verbal details to the power point to give them more background information and context as we move through each slide. Students will be able to describe how early people made the shift from hunters and gatherers to farming civilizations based near rivers-RVCs (River Valley Civilizations). Students comprehension of the concept will deepen as it is discussed throughout the presentation as well as student engagement with responses.
